About The Role
The Client is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee a fast-growing, highly acquisitive buy-and-build platform operating local pet boarding, daycare, and grooming facilities. This is the most senior position in the company and reports directly to ownership. A top performer will have a clear path to step into the CEO role within 2-3 years.
Role Overview
As Platform Lead, you will drive all M&A activity-including sourcing, diligence, and, most critically, integration of add-on acquisitions. In addition, as VP of Store Development, you will oversee regional managers and facility general managers to support profitable growth and ensure exceptional service and facility quality. Over time, you will also help build the broader corporate structure and team.
Important Note: At the time of hire, this will be the only corporate role. The position is highly hands-on with limited initial ability to delegate.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with facility general managers to drive profitable, sustainable growth
- Maintain the highest standards of employee safety, pet safety, and facility cleanliness
- Support Private Capital firm with sourcing, diligence, and integration of acquisitions
- Manage the third-party accounting partner to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Implement lean HR and compliance processes
- Conduct monthly financial reviews with facility leaders to identify improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with Private Capital firm to design and build a scalable organizational structure
- Roll out operational best practices for labor and expense management
- Oversee targeted facility improvement projects, including minor remodels and updates
- Identify and lead greenfield (new facility) development opportunities

- Exceptional interpersonal and team-leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a flat organization with 10 direct reports
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple workstreams
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- 3 years of management experience
- Ability to work 40-50 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Willingness to travel 25%
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and improve operations
- Strong P&L management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
