What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at W3Global Inc.?
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Litigation Paralegal located in San Francisco, CA, with some flexibility for remote work. The role includes supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process, managing case files, and liaising with clients to provide support as needed. The ideal candidate will manage the day-to-day workflow of complex family law and other litigation matters, taking ownership of case files from inception through resolution, working directly with our attorneys, clients, and the courts.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management: Manage case files, track vital deadlines, and coordinate attorney calendars for hearings, depositions, and mediations.
Drafting & Preparation: Prepare and draft Judicial Council forms, pleadings, client/witness declarations, and correspondence. Assist with the preparation of Preliminary and Final Declarations of Disclosure.
Discovery: Propound and respond to discovery requests, organize document productions, and prepare subpoenas.
Court Filings: Organize and electronically file (e-file) pleadings and documents in San Francisco Superior Court and other Bay Area jurisdictions, ensuring strict compliance with local rules.
Legal Research: Conduct basic legal and factual research to support active litigation.
Client Communication: Serve as a reliable point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and third-party vendors.
Qualifications
2 to 5 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, specifically with exposure to family law, probate, or trusts & estates litigation.
Paralegal Certificate compliant with California Business & Professions Code § 6450 is highly preferred (or equivalent bachelor's degree).
Strong familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure, California Rules of Court, and Bay Area local court rules.
Proficiency with e-filing systems, legal billing software, and standard office technology (e.g., MS Office, Adobe Acrobat). Familiarity with tools like X-Spouse or Clio Draft is a plus.
Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation and Document Review
Strong knowledge and experience in conducting Legal Research
Expertise in drafting Pleadings and Motions
Exceptional organizational skills, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to seamlessly collaborate within a tight-knit team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
