Ideal for someone seeking long-term, dependable employment.Job DescriptionWork under minimal supervision to set up and operate manually controlled machines using precision skills.Properly and safely select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.Use gauges and instruments to meet tolerance requirements.Track job materials, parts, and labor legibly, accurately, and on time.Physical requirements include lifting up to 35 lbs., standing for extended periods, kneeling, and climbing.Apply basic math principles including decimals and fractions.Work from sketches or verbal instructions to fabricate and assemble small, intricate assemblies to exacting tolerances involving careful adjustments, clearances, alignments, and coordination.Perform hand and honing operations on surfaces, bores, and pivots requiring the finest tolerances and surface finishes.Perform rework operations requiring the same precision as original build tasks.Required / Recommended SkillsFull knowledge of machine shop theory, practice, and procedures; advanced shop mathematics.Ability to use precision measuring instruments to verify in-process hardware meets tolerances and dimensions.Good understanding of sheet metal operations.Ability to fully set up and operate all basic types of machine tools.Capability to apply advanced shop techniques to work metals to required specifications without conventional tooling when needed.Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and assembly drawings.Ability to work from incomplete engineering verbal, written, or sketched information.Strong knowledge of machining qualities and properties of metals such as aluminum, brass, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and exotic alloys.High School Diploma or GED required.You should be proficient in:CNC Machine InstallationManual Machining SkillsMachines & technologies you'll use:Manual LatheSalary info:$26 - $40 / hr
