Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning and sanding to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Mask off areas using surface preparation masking techniques to protect non-painted surfaces during spraying.
- Conduct surface inspections to identify imperfections and perform necessary repairs for smooth finishes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Follow safety protocols by using respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment during all prep activities.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or background in auto body repair and refinishing a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience with hand tools.
- Expertise in surface preparation techniques including masking and sanding.
- Knowledge of automotive body refinishing processes including auto painting, detailing, and buffing.
- Ability to lift heavy parts safely and perform physical tasks required for vehicle prep work efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members.
