Production Lead

Position Summary: The Station Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of a metal recycling station, leading a team of 5 employees. The ideal candidate will ensure all tasks are performed in a safe and efficient manner, while upholding the highest quality standards in material processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operations Management:
• Supervise daily operations, including material receiving, sorting, preparation, and shipping.
• Ensure all station activities are conducted safely and efficiently, in compliance with company procedures.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the station team, providing guidance and support.
• Material and Equipment Handling:
• Safely operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment, including forklifts and telehandlers.
• Coordinate the use of hand tools and other equipment necessary for material preparation and classification.
• Ensure equipment is well-maintained, reporting any repair or maintenance needs.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Accurately manage and document incoming and outgoing material loads.
• Perform material classification and segregation according to company standards.
• Ensure proper reports and records are created and maintained on the computer.
• Team Leadership:
• Train new employees and provide ongoing training to the team on safety and operational procedures.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Assign tasks, monitor team performance, and ensure daily goals are met.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in the recycling, manufacturing, or warehouse sector.
• Knowledge of classifying and handling various types of metals.
• Experience in operating forklifts and telehandlers (certification is a plus).
• Basic proficiency with computer software (Excel).
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and follow strict safety protocols.
