What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory and Receiving Clerk position at W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Company?
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Perform D365 computer transactions involving work orders, purchase orders, inventories, stock transfers, etc.
- Ensure accuracy of OP work orders tied to PO’s & resulting transactions when receiving product.
- Load & unload items & materials as applicable to/from commercial vehicles including evaluation of delivered items for damages, items packaged/secured to prevent damage, ensure counts & product are correct.
- Place received items & materials from internal & external suppliers into the correct inventory locations & perform applicable system transactions to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Identify received items or materials requiring Incoming Inspection at the Receiving Department. Coordinate the placement of those materials to the proper staging location. Notify the identified quality personnel for the Incoming Inspection to be conducted.
- Work with Quality/Purchasing personnel for Incoming Inspection/Vendor Non-Conformances/Disposition of materials.
- Process Heat Treat orders for shipment to respective vendors & return shipment from vendors.
- Keep all records in an organized fashion – including Packing Slips/BOL’s & any production or quality records.
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse (internal & external) by inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repairs, & adhering to established 6S standards.
- Maintain a clean & safe work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, & workstations neat; sweep, dust & mop. Organize work areas & warehouses for orderliness & cleanliness. Rotate stock as required.
- Adhere to warehouse operations procedures & policies.
- Perform and/or review cycle counts & research any discrepancies. Perform any necessary adjustments in D365, as needed. Maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintain awareness of UPS shipments & schedules. Maintain awareness of LTL & local delivery schedules.
- Mandatory EOY Physical Inventory counts & research discrepancies
- Back up for Material Handler/Driver as needed to transport items and/or materials between buildings or to/from specified destinations (PA, NY, Ohio) using a variety of material handling equipment (carts, dollies, tow motors, etc.) and/or vehicles, while adhering to state & federal regulations.
- Follow/Observe all company & governmental safety procedures & regulations. Use caution in the movement of materials in elevated positions stacking & un-stacking of materials and/or pallets.
- Periodically receive & transport hazardous chemicals & solutions to identified areas.
- Attain a high level of customer service.
- Adhere to company security policies, regulations, Hazmat training/procedures/regulations.
- Responsible for operational productivity, continuous improvement suggestions & involvement.
- Support job related operational training needs regarding existing and/or new manufacturing practices, processes, technologies, etc.
- Perform other duties related in nature that may be assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS
- Driving truck < 26,000 pounds. CDL not required.
- Tow Motor license required.
- Strong math skills – a math test will be administered to confirm math skills. Applicant must pass math test.
- Physical ability to: walk/stand for long periods of time, continuously lift 5-15 pounds & occasionally lift up to 35 pounds, climb stairs while carrying product, & climb ladder to retrieve product.
- Strong communication skills – ability to read & interpret written information.
- Demonstrated Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel) required.
- Knowledge of AX/D365 operating system a plus.
