The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for assisting distribution and inside sales with product selection based on specifications or on specialty applications. Creating a winning proposal requires an ability to accurately ascertain the distributors and end-user’s needs, correctly size and select a solution, and translate this into a compelling offer to the distributor or OEM. Along with the Engineering and/or Regional Manager, the Inside Sales Representative may serve as an internal subject matter expert (SME) on specific product lines and/or applications.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
This position works closely with Operations, Engineering and Sales personnel to ensure correct and timely processing of all customer requests, including generating distributor/OEM quotations, order processing, shipping and returns as required
Build, maintain, and retain relationships with key distributors building effective long-term relationships and customer loyalty often in collaboration with the Regional Manager
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the Company’s available product lines, sales territories, product applications, and applicable pricing structures.
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of various fluid and chemical types, pressure, and the mechanical functions of products to size/select the appropriate customer solution
Offers alternate solutions to customers depending on application and product availability or where deviation from project specifications is required
Expedites existing or new sales orders and communicates with the customer
Assist in addressing distributor product/service issues
Create and maintain distributor trust in the Company as a quality, value-added, solutions provider
Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering preferred or equivalent technical school certification
Alternatively,5 years of experience in a customer-facing role identifying and addressing customer needs within relevant industry
Strong market reputation with the ability to attract business to the Company through distributor relationships
Skills & Abilities
Advanced knowledge of valves, actuation and related products
Intermediate understanding of applications in the chemical, oil & gas, food & beverage and power markets
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Intermediate knowledge of SAGE
Good mechanical aptitude
Ability to perform job function with little to no supervision
Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening

Travel: less than 5%
Lifting up to 20 pounds
Bending, stooping, walking
