Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and hardworking Asphalt Prep Crew Operator to join our construction team this upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in asphalt prep, grading, or heavy equipment operation as well as a strong understanding of grades, drainage, and soil compaction. Other requirements include maintaining a valid driver's license (Class A CDL is a major plus for hauling equipment), be able to lift 50 lbs, work long hours outdoors in various weather conditions, and most importantly have a safety-first attitude with an ability to communicate effectively with a mobile crew.
Duties
- Safely run skid steers, excavators, rollers, and graders to prepare subgrade surfaces for asphalt installation.
- Ability to read site plans, dig out and prepare cuts in parking lots and driveways to ensure proper compaction and drainage.
- Work closely with the paving foreman and crew to ensure site specifications are met before project paving starts.
- Conduct daily walk around inspections and basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
