Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Evaluate safety practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
- Develop and execute health and safety plans and policies in the workplace to maintain a safe workplace and according to legal guidelines.
- Conduct training sessions for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
- Monitor compliance by preparing and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Ensure all required records and reports are submitted regarding health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
- Oversee and coordinate on site job hazard analysis.
- Oversee and coordinate on-site safety trainings which address specific needs of the project, including but not limited to fall protection training, scaffold user training, forklift, and mobile elevated platform training.
- Use a continuous improvement approach to safety to engage field personnel and leadership in support of the company’s safety objectives.
- At least 6 years of experience as a Safety Manager; preferably in the construction industry for large commercial and industrial projects. BS/BA in safety management or relevant field experience preferred.
- Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
- Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies, including data analysis and risk assessment.
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills, with an outstanding attention to detail and observation.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Current OSHA 30-hour Course Certification, OSHA 500-hour Course Certification, First Aid and CPR Certified.
- Crane/ Rigging experience a must.
- Must know how to administer and monitor the implementation of all protective equipment.
- Experience in Microsoft office products such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
