About the Role - Safety Manager with Rail Experience - WMATA, Amtrak, CSX, MARC
- The Site Safety Manager Must Have Experience working on railroads as the EIC or Watchman.
- Must have a strong knowledge of CSX and Amtrak Operating Rules.
- Must be familiar setting up work zones with protective devices.
- Prepare and conducting the Daily Briefing.
- Badging is required for this project
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree: in occupational health and safety, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant Certifications: Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction, or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) are highly valued.
Professional Experience
- Industry Experience: At least 10 years' of safety management experience in construction
- Familiarity with Regulations: In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local/state safety regulations is essential.

- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for training staff and reporting incidents.

Core Responsibilities
- Conduct Safety Surveys
- Document and Reporting of Site Visits
- Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of the construction site safety program. This includes ensuring compliance with company policies, MOSH, VOSH and OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proactively identify safety problem
- Administering site-specific safety plans and policies.
- Conducting regular safety training and toolbox talks for employees and subcontractors.
- Inspecting work sites to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Investigating accidents and incidents, and preparing detailed reports.
- Maintaining safety records and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Coordinating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety into all phases of construction.
