Role Description

The Program Specialist is a full-time hybrid role based in Albuquerque, NM, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. This role supports the design, implementation, and monitoring of grantmaking strategies and programs, including coordinating projects, timelines, and deliverables. The Program Specialist reviews proposals and reports, gathers and analyzes data, and prepares clear summaries and recommendations to inform program decisions. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate program records, supporting grantees with responsive customer service, and coordinating meetings, events, and training activities with internal and external partners. The role collaborates closely with program officers and cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication, alignment with foundation priorities, and timely execution of program activities.

Education & Experience

  • Required - Minimum of associate degree plus three years of administrative or management support experience; or high school diploma or equivalent with at least five years of previously mentioned experience.
  • Foundation or nonprofit experience helpful
  • Successful experience working as part of a multidisciplinary and multinational team and working effectively with persons from diverse cultural, social, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds. Displays respect and cultural competence, willingness to engage in ongoing learning about systemic oppression and its impact on self and communities.
  • Indigenous or Spanish language skills highly desired.


Compensation and Impact

  • Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000
