Subcontractor Outreach Specialist The primary function of the SOS is to provide support to the entire estimating staff for multiple bid efforts in addition to maintaining and establishing subcontractor relationships. Key Responsibilities The duties, responsibilities and attributes of the SOS typically include, but are not limited to: Build relationships with key existing subcontractors and strive to establish new relationships Responsible for managing and updating the subcontractor database Strategically identify and attend subcontractor industry events to help broaden our relationships and to market WEO Manage and participate in the creation of bid proposal packages in response to RFP’s Solicit and obtain subcontractor bid coverage Limited Administrative Duties Check and distribute incoming mail and documents to appropriate parties, including scanning and uploading to Box for PA access Sign for packages and certified mail Open delivered packages and notify recipients for pickup Monitor and restock office supplies, food, and snacks; coordinate with the office team to identify needs Occasionally send out packages via FedEx, GLS, or USPS, which may include drop-offs at local facilities Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Technical Skills Basic Understanding of construction terminology, trades and project types Understands the differences between various delivery methods, i.e., budgets, competitive bids and negotiated projects Basic Understanding of trade CSI codes Personal Attributes Keen attention to detail, with an ability to spot errors Strong organizational skills Work Efficiently – allocates one’s own time efficiently; handles multiple demands and competing priorities Effective time management Takes initiative, strives for increased responsibility and has a desire to learn Motivates and contribute to the team and morale of the office Interpersonal Skills Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers, and external partners Effective written and verbal language communication skills Problem solving and decision-making – works with others to identify, define and solve problems Foster Teamwork – participates and fosters collaboration among team members and among teams Motivate Others – encourages and empowers others to achieve; builds relationships; creates enthusiasm, a feeling of investment, and a desire to excel Drive for Results – drives for results and success; conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure; persists despite obstacles and opposition Show Work Commitment - sets high standards of performance; pursues aggressive goals and works hard to achieve them Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all subcontractors and WEO Team members Show alignment with and promotes WEO Corporate Values Qualifications: 1-3 years minimum of relevant professional experience working with a Subcontractor or General Contractor Understands and effectively uses company software programs and systems: a) Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) b) Proficiency in Outlook and has the ability to manage calendars, address books, tasks and email c) Ability to navigate and manage files and folders in cloud-based platforms, such as Box.com d) Microsoft Teams e) BidMail f) Bluebeam Revu Physical Demands: Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to navigate office and other spaces.
