W.E. O’Neil is seeking an experienced Project Director - Education to provide leadership on complex, high-value construction projects. In this role, you’ll own project success from pursuit through closeout—leading teams, managing risk, strengthening client relationships, and delivering exceptional outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Lead one or more large, complex construction projects from pursuit and preconstruction through completion
- Own overall project performance—profitability, schedule, quality, safety, and client satisfaction
- Partner with estimating, operations, and field leadership to set GMPs, schedules, and execution strategies
- Serve as the senior client-facing leader, building trusted relationships with Owners, Architects, and partners
- Oversee and mentor Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, setting clear expectations and developing talent
- Manage contract strategy, change negotiations, risk mitigation, and claims avoidance
- Drive strong safety culture in collaboration with Superintendents and Safety leadership
- Support business development efforts including RFQs/RFPs, interviews, and industry networking
What You'll Bring
- 10–15 years of progressive construction leadership experience on large-scale projects, specifically in the K12 and Higher Education spaces
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders
- Design-Build management experience. DBIA preferred.
- Deep knowledge of construction delivery methods, contracts, scheduling, and cost control
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Advanced proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (CMiC, P6, MS Project, Bluebeam, BIM tools, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience

Salary : $170,000 - $205,000
