Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer/Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and providing bookkeeping assistance to clients. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial software, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our clients.
Duties
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, corporations, trusts, and estates.
- Analyze financial data to identify potential tax deductions and credits.
- Utilize accounting software and financial software, including UltraTax & Accounting CS, to manage client accounts efficiently.
- Provide guidance to clients on tax-related matters, ensuring they understand their obligations and opportunities.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation for tax preparation or bookkeeping.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other financial statements.
- Prepare trial balances.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Offer exceptional service to clients by addressing any inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Assist in technical accounting tasks as needed.
Experience
- Degree in accounting or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in the public accounting field or with tax preparation is preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required, along with knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and accounting software is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
- Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
