Job Summary:
W.A. Petrakis Contracting is seeking an experienced Laborer/Operator with a minimum of 3 years of construction experience. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy machinery and will be responsible for ensuring efficient and safe operations on construction sites. Additionally, the operator will also be a laborer on the gas line installation crew in Greensburg, PA. Must be reliable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment including excavator, skid loaders, and wheel loaders to perform tasks such as digging, building, and transporting materials.
- General construction labor duties
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Familiarity with ditch protection and ditch safety
- Crisis management skills
- Assist in the setup and teardown of construction sites as needed.
- Install gas pipe fittings, cut pipe, basic plumbing skills
- Proficiency in handling 2"-6" trash pumps in critical situations.
- Ability to dig mainline gas line and do gas line services
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience with heavy equipment operation, particularly excavators, backhoes, and skid loaders.
- Experience as construction laborer
- Ability to work in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Pass Pre-employment Drug Screening
Preferred:
- CDL PREFERRED
- OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
