What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician - Windows position at Vytex Windows?
FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Objective: Our Service Technicians diagnose, trouble shoot, adjust, inspect, repair, and replace parts on all Vytex products while at customer homes. You must have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent driving record, and be available for periodic overtime. You also must have a strong focus on customer service, quality, and safety.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES OF THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN :
- Completing service jobs on Vytex products in the field – replacing glass in windows or doors; replacing sashes; repairing broken locks; etc.
- Providing customers with helpful information on the care, operation, and maintenance of their Vytex products
- Generating, updating, and completing all service-related paperwork
- Conducting any necessary follow up service work and communicating with Service Coordinators to ensure the best Customer Service is provided
- Loading your Service van with all necessary parts and equipment and making sure that your service van consistently stays in safe, working order
- Keeping service area neat and organized and always working safely
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS OF THE FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN :
- Individuals must be able to perform each essential job duty, as listed above, satisfactorily
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and serve as a professional Vytex representative on all job sites
- Possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience with servicing windows, or 2 to 3 years of experience with window installations
- Service Techs must be fully knowledgeable on residential window and door repair and service aspects as well as have the technical expertise to diagnose problems and make decisions
- Ability to work independently and periodic overtime when needed
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills; strong listening and empathy skills
- Service Techs must be familiar enough with computers to develop proficient knowledge of our service system to monitor their schedules
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to climb ladders
- Able to work at heights from 6 feet to 30 feet
- Able to be on feet for long periods
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
