Organization: Endo 3rd Job Summary: Ensures the accurate assembly of instrument trays and/or equipment independently. Utilization of the instrument tracking system and maintaining adequate sterilization of instrumentation and/or equipment by preparation of requested instrumentation and/or equipment for surgical and clinical procedures. Assists with ensuring staff are following guidelines and assignments of tasks are completed timely and accurately. Shift Details: 10:30PM - 7:00AM Monday-Friday . Shift: Monday-Friday Hours: 11:00pm-7:00am Key Responsibilities: Assists with orientation and every day workflow of assignments of new employees. Assist with development of in-service for staff members. Coordinates daily workflow with staff members to ensure timely completion. Monitors workflow performed by staff to ensure correctness. Demonstrates and understands principles of sterilization in preparing items for OR and clinic use. Operates all sterilization and HLD equipment according to manufacture requirements and departmental policies. Demonstrates and understands principles of decontamination and standard precautions. Assures that all employees demonstrate and understand the principles of decontamination. Understands and has the ability to function as a sterile processing technician and/or endoscopy tech specialist. Monitors and inventories the supplies and ensures instrumentation is available for OR and clinical areas. Ensures implementation of standards within the quality assurance monitoring process and improvements are followed. Monitors record keeping of repairs, maintenance, quality assurance measures are up to date and documented daily. Maintains and reviews missing instrumentation. Puts in requests for missing instrument orders and instrument par needed to maintain functioning instrument trays. Technical Capabilities: Inventory Control (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of inventory control in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job. Surgical Equipment Knowledge (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of the equipment and related devices. Has solid knowledge of performance criteria. Able to use the equipment to accomplish advanced tasks associated with the specific devices. Easily resolves equipment problems. Equipment Maintenance (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of preventive maintenance in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully maintaining equipment, products, or systems without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to conduct predictive maintenance on core products and equipment. Environmental Sterility & Safety (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of environmental sterility and safety in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering environmental sterility and safety services without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving technical instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.
