Position Summary
QA Engineers will support the Quality Assurance team in maintaining quality systems, ensuring compliance, and supporting audit readiness. This role provides hands-on experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems (QMS), ITAR compliance, and aerospace/defense quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain the ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Prepare for, support, and follow up on internal and external audits
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for ISO 9001 and AS9100 compliance
- Ensure configuration control of hardware and software (versions, revisions, traceability)
- Support Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), including tracking and follow-up
- Assist in supplier quality compliance and supplier audits
- Assist in providing training on quality standards and processes
- Record and maintain quality records, reports, and inspection data
- Support ITAR compliance processes within QA procedures
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- Junior QA Engineer: 1–2 years of QA, manufacturing, or engineering experience
- Mid-level QA Engineer: 3–4 years of QA, manufacturing, or engineering experience
- Hands-on experience supporting ISO 9001 QMS implementation and maintenance
- Experience participating in or preparing for AS9100 audits
- Experience supporting or conducting internal audits
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience in the aerospace or defense industry
- AS9100 internal auditor or lead auditor certification
- Familiarity with risk-based thinking and product safety requirements
- Experience with supplier quality and SCAR processes
- Exposure to ITAR compliance requirements

Salary Range (Carlsbad, CA)
Experience Level Salary Range
Junior (1–2 years)
$65,000 – $85,000
Mid-level (3–4 years)
$85,000 – $105,000
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily sedentary with extended computer use
- Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Onsite, full-time position
