Job Summary

Vulcan Thermal is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our Pennsylvania operation.

This is a hands-on industrial maintenance position with a clear opportunity for advancement. We are looking for someone who can learn our equipment and operation, take increasing ownership of the maintenance function, and grow into leading and running the maintenance department.

The right candidate takes pride in keeping equipment running, responds quickly when problems arise, and believes a well-run maintenance department should be clean, organized, proactive, and dependable.

The Maintenance Technician will report directly to the General Manager and Operations Manager and work closely with production to keep our heat-treating equipment and facility operating safely and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial heat-treating equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and related equipment issues.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production needs to minimize downtime.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and help improve the facility's preventive maintenance program.
• Maintain maintenance tools, spare parts, work areas, and equipment in a clean and highly organized condition.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend practical, long-term solutions.
• Assist with equipment repairs, upgrades, installations, and facility improvement projects.
• Maintain appropriate maintenance records and parts inventory.
• Work closely with management and production to prioritize maintenance needs.
• Participate in overtime and compensated after-hours call-ins when necessary.
• Take increasing ownership of the maintenance function with the goal of eventually leading the maintenance department.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced maintenance professional who is reliable, self-motivated, organized, hands-on, and comfortable working independently.

You should be someone who takes ownership of problems, works through them methodically, and understands that equipment uptime and preventive maintenance are critical to a successful manufacturing operation.

Required Qualifications

• Previous industrial maintenance or maintenance mechanic experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to diagnose equipment problems and work through them methodically.
• Dependable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime and respond to compensated call-ins as required.
• Strong attendance and demonstrated reliability.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workplace.
• Ability to communicate effectively with production employees and management.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of maintenance issues.
• Interest in taking on increasing responsibility and eventually leading the maintenance department.

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

• Heat treatment or industrial furnace maintenance.
• Atmosphere furnace maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Smog-Hog / electrostatic air-cleaning equipment.
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting.
• Motors, pumps, burners, fans, pneumatics, and related industrial equipment.
• Preventive maintenance program development and execution.
• Equipment installation, upgrades, and facility projects.
• Previous maintenance leadership or lead mechanic experience.

Travel Requirements

This position is based at our Pennsylvania facility, but occasional travel to Vulcan Thermal's Tennessee facility may be required to assist with maintenance projects, equipment repairs, installations, training, or other operational needs.

Any required business travel will be company-paid or appropriately reimbursed, including eligible travel-related expenses in accordance with company policy.

Candidates should be willing and able to travel to Tennessee on an occasional basis when needed.

Compensation & Growth Opportunity

Starting pay: $25.00 per hour, with overtime and call-in work compensated.
