Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Oven Room / Heat Treating Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining heat treating equipment, ensuring that metal components are processed to meet precise specifications. Individual will work independently to support various functional departments by coordinating flow of work-in-process and finished goods within the factory. Coordinates the flow of parts through stress relief ovens and coating of parts post stress relief.
Responsibilities
- Operate oven room equipment, including heat treating chambers, following established procedures and safety protocols
- Monitor temperature, time, and other critical parameters during heat treatment cycles to ensure optimal results
- Conduct routine inspections of heat treating equipment, perform maintenance, and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, machining drawings, and process specifications to ensure proper handling of parts
- Applies oil or silicone coating to parts as required.
- Boxes and palletizes work in process and finished goods as required staging boxes for shipping in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of heat treatment cycles, inspections, and transition activities in compliance with quality standards
- Ensures product traceability by marketing materials with identifying information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience operating heat treating equipment or oven rooms in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately (GD&T knowledge preferred)
- Experience with handtruck and pallet jack operation and crane handling for material movement is desirable
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments are essential
- Ability to work safely in an environment with high-temperature equipment while adhering to safety protocols
- Must be able to regularly lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with appropriate equipment
*this is a physical position that requires the individual in this role to stand, move through the facility and lift product the majority of the workday
