Role Overview:
The Marketing Intern will support day-to-day digital marketing operations including SEO implementation, website content updates, and social media coordination. This role is ideal for someone interested in learning how marketing programs are deployed across a multi-location retail business.
You will work closely with the marketing team to keep projects moving, manage content workflows, and help maintain brand consistency across digital channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support SEO implementation initiatives following project or vendor contracts
- Assist with location data updates and digital listing accuracy
- Help track keyword targeting, local search performance, and optimization tasks
- Assist with website content updates and content improvement sprints
- Draft and edit website copy aligned with brand guidelines
- Coordinate approvals and publishing workflows for site updates
- Help organize and maintain the social media content calendar
- Draft social media copy and assist with post scheduling
- Support daily social media stand-ups and posting workflows
- Track engagement metrics and basic performance indicators
- Maintain trackers for marketing initiatives and campaign progress
- Assist with status updates and project follow-ups
- Support marketing team coordination across multiple initiatives
Qualifications & Skills:
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
- Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear, concise copy for web and social media
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (filters and pivot tables are a plus)
- Basic experience with Canva or Adobe Express (templates, resizing, light editing)
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills
Bonus Skills:
- Basic understanding of SEO fundamentals
- Familiarity with Google Business Profiles, keywords, or engagement metrics
- Interest in digital marketing analytics
Education & Experience:
- Current student pursuing a degree in:
- Marketing
- Communications
- Digital Marketing
- Business Analytics / MIS
- Or a related field
What You Will Learn:
This internship provides hands-on exposure to how marketing actually operates in a multi-location retail environment.
You will gain experience in:
- Real-world retail marketing execution
- SEO implementation fundamentals including location data management and content planning
- Website content management including copywriting, approvals, and publishing workflows
- Social media strategy basics including posting cadence, brand voice, and engagement measurement
- Marketing project management including trackers, status updates, and stakeholder coordination
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based work using a computer for extended periods
- Ability to sit, stand, and move within an office environment
- Occasional travel to local retail store locations for visits or marketing support may be required
