What are the responsibilities and job description for the On-Campus Student Employment for Summer 2026! position at VTSU?
A variety of part-time jobs are available at VTSU, allowing you to earn money while developing your skills, building your resume, and gaining valuable professional experience.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and in general, student positions are paid hourly, as noted.
To apply for Federal Work Study (FWS), please contact Financial Aid for the summer application. If you don’t qualify for FWS, know there are still positions available for employment.

Employment at Castleton, Johnson, Lyndon or Randolph campus:
Admissions, $14.50: Provides tours of campus, assists with mailings, data entry and front desk. Records processing, filing and other office related tasks. Help prepare and work admissions events.
Lifeguards, $15.00: Lifeguard Certification required. Closely monitoring individuals using the pool, serve as first response in emergency situations and getting help, if necessary.
Fitness Center, $14.50: Answer phone, review membership options, keep fitness center picked up, help with cleaning, respond to emergencies in gym. Help students, faculty, staff as well as community members use equipment.
Employment at Castleton campus only:
Conferences & Events, $15.00: Provide help with day-to-day operations in supporting all events, conferences and camps throughout campus. Staff members wear many hats and will gain experience in event management, hospitality, AV, game management, scheduling and customer service.
Grounds Crew, $15.00: Mow lawns, weed whack and other general grounds upkeep. Prepare and paint areas, using judgment to determine the area to be done, est. materials to be used, clean work area and tools.
Theater Crew, $15.00: Facilitate performances of all types by providing lighting, staging, sound and other services as required.
