- Technical Leadership: You'll define the technical vision and architecture, ensuring the quality, scalability, and reliability of our cloud-deployed software systems.
- Strategic Collaboration: You'll partner closely with other Staff Engineers to align and coordinate technical investments across major product areas.
- Influential Consensus Building: You have a demonstrated ability to build consensus and drive alignment among diverse technical leads.
- Adaptable Expertise: You are technology-agnostic, quickly orienting to new codebases and tools. You also proactively explore and champion emergent technologies and their potential to solve complex problems. You possess strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Ruby, TypeScript, Go, or Python, or Ruby.
- Dedicated Mentorship: You prioritize the growth of both junior and senior engineers. You're adept at pairing, providing insightful feedback through one-on-ones, and offering comprehensive written reviews of technical proposals and pull requests. You also actively support teams in their daily development as a technical mentor.
- Impactful Problem Solving: You are a skilled problem solver capable of identifying and resolving complex technical issues with deep expertise, while also serving as a strategic thinker who creatively advances broad initiatives.
- AI System Experience: You have hands-on experience developing, building, and deploying AI systems.

Pay Transparency
At VTS, we pride ourselves on articulating a clear and transparent philosophy around equitable, impartial compensation that will allow us to recruit and retain an exceptional team. The base salary is market-driven at the time of offer and is based on tier 1 market data. The salary for this role will range between $170,000 and $220,000 and is determined by several factors, including your skills, prior relevant experience, quality of interviews, leveling, and geography.
