Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Seattle, WA or Bozeman, MT. The Machine Learning Engineer - NLP will focus on developing and optimizing natural language processing models and algorithms, and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to implement solutions on low SWaP devices. The role involves informing data collection and processing, dataset curating and model training, and model packaging and deployment.
Qualifications
- Experience with Python, PyTorch, and other NLP libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, spaCy, NLTK)
- Strong knowledge of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Natural Language Understanding (NLU), and Machine Learning (ML)
- Competence in building and deploying models, such as diarized transcription models and small language models.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is advantageous
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or similar fields or relevant industry experience.
- Familiarity with aviation or aerospace technology is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
Salary and equity compensation will vary based on experience. Salaries may range from $80,000 to $160,000 per year. Incentive Stock Options will additionally be a component of the compensation package.
VTI additionally offers 401K with a 4% match, an unlimited PTO policy, and health care reimbursement up to the IRS allowable limit through QSEHRA.
