As Engineering Manager for Catalog, you’ll lead one of the most critical domains in VTEX’s commerce platform — the core of the e-commerce experience, where all product information, categories, brands, and attributes are managed and served to buyers and sellers.
The VTEX e-commerce platform has empowered businesses to establish robust online stores and manage product catalogs for decades. As the platform evolved, its components were gradually modernized. Today, the Catalog team owns the last key pieces of this legacy platform while driving the transformation toward a modern, modular, and scalable Catalog experience that will serve as the foundation for VTEX’s next generation of commerce capabilities.
In this role, you will guide a highly capable engineering team through this transition — balancing technical direction, system reliability, and people growth — while shaping the long-term vision of catalog experience at VTEX.
- Lead and mentor a talented engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the modernization of the Catalog domain, ensuring a smooth transition from legacy components to the new platform architecture.
- Partner closely with Product Management to define and execute the long-term technical and product vision for Catalog.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance across Catalog systems that power key commerce experiences.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Fulfillment, Offers, Search, and Platform to ensure a unified and seamless product ecosystem.
- Represent the Catalog domain in broader engineering discussions, contributing to VTEX’s technical vision for the future.
- Experienced Engineering Manager with a strong foundation in backend development and system architecture.
- Track record leading teams through modernization, migration, or re-platforming initiatives in e-commerce or large-scale platform environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills, capable of aligning multiple teams and priorities.
- Experienced people leader, focused on mentorship, feedback, and talent development.
- You are hands-on and curious about AI, using LLMs, automation, and design/dev tools to boost speed, quality, and clarity in your workflow, while staying thoughtful about their limitations, safety, and responsible use.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
