Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of mainframe hardware and software lifecycle management initiatives
- Manage teams supporting multiple z/OS mainframe environments
- Provide technical leadership across core mainframe technologies including JCL, DB2, IMS, CICS, source code management, and SDLC practices
- Oversee security mechanisms such as RACF, ACF2, and TSS
- Drive modernization, automation, and continuous improvement of mainframe services
- Partner with data center services, production services, and application development teams to support enterprise initiatives
- Lead and develop managers and technical staff through coaching, mentoring, and talent development practices
- Guide cross?functional efforts and complex programs to successful outcomes
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 6–10 years of relevant infrastructure or systems engineering experience
- 10 years of diverse IT experience preferred; financial services experience is a plus
- Strong experience in mainframe infrastructure, system programming, or mainframe application development
- Direct hands-on mainframe experience is required
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex projects
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across technical and business stakeholders
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem?solving capabilities
Technical Skills (Preferred)
- z/OS, PARMLIB, UNIX System Services, HCD
- SMP/E and maintenance routines
- JCL, IPL processes, ISPF/TSO
- Installation and support of IBM operating systems and ISV software
- ITSM / ITIL practices including Release and Change Management
Experience building and sustaining enterprise mainframe platforms.
