Fiber Technician - FTTH

VTEK LLC is a local, privately owned and operated company contracting company in Des Moines. We do contracted work for Metro Net and looking to expand our workforce. We are looking for Sub-Contracted (1099) Field Service Technicians, for Cable, Internet, Phone and TV installations in the Des Moines Area.

ABSOLUTELY NO PRIORFIBER EXPERIENCE OR SKILLS REQUIRED!

We will teach you how to master installing Fiber Optic Gigabit Internet Services and Phone services.

We will help get you onto the right track, for being a successful technician, and make you feel valued, no matter what your skill level is.

We can even help get you setup with the tools needed to do the job, if necessary.

Maybe you’re an expert already and have experience?

That's even better! We want you to work with us! Prior Experience working with Satellite TV, Fiber Splicing, CATV Etc. is applicable, but not at all necessary.

We offer flexible schedules, to help you meet your own life if needed.

Installers earn on average $1,200-$1,500 a week or more, depending on your skill set and work load. All worked completed is paid by piece work 1099, which depends on what is installed.

Installers will receive their route via a computer system each day via an App on your phone to complete within set time frames.

Techs are expected to follow simple procedures and complete work in accordance to quality control standards under the assistance and guidance of a local supervisor.

We provide a local office, for picking up needed materials and equipment on a daily basis, to help assist your with the work that needs to be performed

Basic Requirements:

• - Have access to a vehicle to work out of, preferably something that can carry a 28 Foot fiberglass ladder safely, (TRUCK- VAN), No Car, or SUV's Please.
• - Pass a simple Drug Test/Background Check.
• - Have a valid Driver’s License.
• - Reliability is a must.
• - Good Communication/Customer Service Skills.
• - Ability to follow directions, and follow easy install procedures.
• - Be technologically literate.
• - Have the ability to carry at least 50 lbs., and use simple hand tools.
• - Must not be afraid of heights.
• - Well attuned to being outside, and accustomed to Iowa weather, and willing and able to work during all weather.
• - Must have and carry General Liability insurance, typically costs $30 a month. Upon hiring, known insurance agents can be put into contact to help setup if needed.
• - Must have a cell phone, and mobile access to the internet.
• - Own basic hand tools (screwdrivers etc.), Hammer Drill, and 28 Ft Fiberglass Extension ladder. Tools are available to purchase, and payment plans can be setup if needed.
• - Own or have the ability to purchase a Fusion Splicer. (Can be provided and financed if needed).
