Job Summary The Principal Network Engineer will work closely with members of the team to maintain the integrity of Vistra's internal network, including customer-facing hosted and cloud environment. The successful candidate will serve as a visionary leader and technical expert, driving the design, implementation, and optimization of next-generation networks. Job Description Key Accountabilities • Lead the strategic design and architecture of large-scale network infrastructures. • Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of network engineers. • Drive research and development initiatives. • Develop and maintain technical standards and best practices. • Lead troubleshooting efforts of complex network issues. • Serve as a subject matter expert on network technologies. • Represent the company in industry forums. Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or related experience gained through college degree programs and or certifications in related field • 10 years of experience in network engineering. • Expert-level knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies. • Extensive experience with network equipment from leading vendors. • Strong understanding of data center networking, virtualization, cloud technologies, and emerging trends. • Demonstrated leadership skills. Relevant certifications preferred.
