DATA ENGINEER - DATA FABRIC

Overview

The Data Engineer - Data Fabric Architecture designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms using modern lakehouse principles.  This role supports enterprise data initiatives through Python-based development and implementation of medallion architecture patterns (bronze, silver, gold).  The Data Engineer collaborates with analytics, business, and technology teams to deliver trusted, high-quality data that enables reporting, advanced analytics, AI, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and modern orchestration tools
• Build and optimize lakehouse architectures following medallion-layer best practices
• Develop ingestion, transformation, and data quality processes for structured and unstructured data sources
• Support analytics and reporting teams with curated, high-performance datasets
• Collaborate on data governance, metadata management, and data lineage initiatives
• Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and security of the data platform
• Support enterprise data modernization efforts using platforms such as Microsoft Fabric
• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and platform issues

 Required Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• 3-7 years direct experience in enterprise data engineering, including ETL development, lakehouse implementations, data modeling, and Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud-based data platforms.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a government Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• Strong experience in data engineering, ETL development, and Python programming
• Knowledge of lakehouse concepts and medallion architecture frameworks
• Understanding of data modeling, data quality, and governance principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
• Familiarity with orchestration tools and modern analytics architectures
• Experience supporting enterprise analytics, BI, or AI initiatives
• Experience working in cloud-based or large-scale data environments
