About Us:
Vehicle Security Innovators, LLC creates custom security products for the transportation industry.
Our largest customers are Semi Truck manufactures. VSI supplies these truck companies with locks and keys for their heavy trucks. Other customers are After Market consumers where we build security products for light trucks and 4x4's. Some examples include replacement tailgate locks and vehicle lock boxes.
VSI is an assembly shop. We source all our components externally. Products are assembled on our production floor before being sent to the end customer.
Your Background & Position Summary:
This Quality position will focus on four key functions in their role:
- Customer Quality – Our products must meet customer specific requirements that are in addition to IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001, along with expectations for quality & delivery
- Quality Management System - VSI is certified to quality standard IATF 16949. The Quality Engineer will become an expert in our Quality Management System (QMS) and will prepare, coordinate, and ensure completion of the annual IATF audit.
- Supplier Quality - Work closely with our suppliers as well as internal production and engineering teams. If nonconforming product is identified, the Quality Engineer will work with our suppliers to resolve the issue.
- Audits – Internal Audits of processes, as well as audits or inspection of incoming parts are necessary to ensure process & product quality.
A successful candidate will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Other duties may include PPAP (including FMEA, Control Plans, MSA), reading blueprints, and using measuring equipment.
Previous ISO/IATF experience is required.
Job Duties:
- Communicate any product concerns, problems, and/or rejections with internal teammates (Quality, Inventory, Purchasing, Production, etc.) to ensure shared communication
- Lead the investigation of nonconforming product and communicate with appropriate stakeholders
- Collect, analyze and summarize quality data
- Report quality & compliance data, such as MDS, Conflict Minerals, and Special Process Guidelines for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
- Read & interpret technical data such as product drawings & models
- Perform & document quality assessments & inspections on incoming materials from suppliers and utilize measuring equipment to perform inspections (calipers, micrometers, Keyence, etc.)
Maintain positive relationships with our suppliers:
- Create and maintain clear and effective lines of communication with suppliers
- Communicate any product concerns, problems, and/or rejections with suppliers
- Assist in supplier quality system audits, which may require a site visit
