Responsibilities
Regional Market Visibility and Positioning
• Serve as the external face of VSCE in the region, representing the firm at conferences, client forums, and strategic networking events.
• Build regional brand recognition by elevating VSCE’s credibility, especially with prime consultants and public agencies.
• Ensure VSCE is perceived not only as a quality subconsultant, but as a viable and competitive prime candidate in targeted sectors.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the Regional President and Practice Builder on market positioning and relationship dynamics.

2. Strategic Business Development Support
• Open doors that are traditionally closed to emerging firms, leveraging personal credibility and regional influence.
• Facilitate executive introductions, pre-RFP conversations, and strategic relationship-building with clients and primes.
• Participate in capture planning and teaming strategy sessions alongside the Practice Builder and Regional President.
• Assist in developing and nurturing select relationships with high-value agencies, particularly those critical to VSCE’s transition to prime consultant.

3. Regional Storytelling and Brand Amplification
• Partner with the Corporate Sales & Marketing Manager to share project wins, success stories, and community impact from the region.
• Promote VSCE's diversity credentials and community-based mission to reinforce trust with clients and teaming partners.
• Use storytelling, public speaking, and media visibility to amplify VSCE’s role on projects and in the market.

4. Collaboration and Internal Support
• Work in close coordination with the Practice Builder to reinforce delivery credibility during client-facing engagements.
• Support the Proposal Manager and Recruiting Manager by offering market intelligence and reputational insight that sharpens pursuits and hiring strategies.
• Act as a feedback loop from the market—bringing back insights from events, competitors, and agency interactions to inform the regional growth strategy.
• Designate and train an “alternative regional Growth Evangelist” within the region to ensure continuity during absences.

5. Leadership and Representation
• Represent VSCE at industry leadership forums such as WTS, APWA, CMAA, COMTO, ACEC, and agency-led technical workshops.
• Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers, political stakeholders, and community influencers in the region.
• Participate in proposal shortlist interviews and high-level meetings to represent VSCE’s leadership and market alignment.
Qualifications
• 12 years of experience in AEC, infrastructure consulting, or public-sector capital projects with at least 3 years directly working in the CM/PM industry.
• Proven ability to build trust with public agencies, primes, and industry influencers.
• Deep network of relationships within the regional marketplace (public works, transit, utilities, etc.).
• Exceptional communication, executive presence, and negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of the competitive landscape, regional funding environment, and agency procurement practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Public Affairs, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
Performance Metrics
• Strategic relationship development (new agency contacts, teaming conversations initiated).
• Market perception indicators (client feedback, invites to strategic pursuits or JV discussions).
• VSCE visibility and event participation in the region.
• Contribution to proposal wins, especially high-value pursuits with new primes or as a prime.
• Effectiveness in positioning VSCE for elevated roles in the regional marketplace.
• Performance Review shall be completed biannually for this position.
