Inventory Control Associate
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-focused Inventory Control Associate to join our Cannabis Cultivation Facilities team at VS Kentucky. This critical role is responsible for managing all cannabis inventory tracking, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining accurate records in our state-of-the-art cultivation environment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of cannabis regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Tracking
- Manage and track all cannabis and cannabis-derived product inventory using Metrc (Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting Compliance) system
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with digital records to ensure 100% accuracy
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in forecasting inventory needs for optimal stock management
- Execute inventory transfers between different facility areas and track product movement throughout the supply chain
- Maintain real-time inventory updates and ensure all transactions are properly recorded
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all products are properly labeled, tagged, and stored according to Kentucky state cannabis regulations
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for all inventory movements, transfers, and transactions
- Prepare and submit required reports for management and regulatory bodies within specified timeframes
- Conduct compliance audits and ensure adherence to all state tracking requirements
- Stay current with Kentucky's evolving cannabis regulations and implement necessary procedural changes
Quality Assurance & Security
- Identify and report any discrepancies, variances, or suspicious activities immediately to management
- Verify product quality and packaging integrity during inventory processes
- Ensure secure handling and storage of all cannabis products according to security protocols
- Maintain chain of custody documentation for all inventory movements
- Assist with regulatory inspections and provide necessary documentation to inspectors
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with production staff to track harvest schedules and processing timelines
- Work with quality assurance teams to manage product testing and compliance requirements
- Support management with inventory analysis and reporting for business decision-making
- Assist with training staff on proper inventory procedures and Metrc system usage
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
- Previous experience with inventory management systems and database management
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to learn specialized tracking software
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform accurate calculations
- Understanding of regulatory compliance principles and documentation requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the cannabis industry or highly regulated industries (pharmaceutical, food service, etc.)
- Experience with Metrc or similar seed-to-sale tracking systems
- Knowledge of Kentucky cannabis regulations and compliance requirements
- Inventory management certification or related professional development
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, database management, and reporting tools

- Ability to work in secure, regulated environment with strict access controls
- Potential for weekend or holiday coverage during critical inventory periods
