As our Electronics Buyer & Material Coordinator, you'll monitor open purchase orders, communicate with suppliers daily, identify shortages before they impact production, expedite critical components, and place new purchase orders to support manufacturing demand. You'll become one of the key people responsible for ensuring our production floor always has the materials required to build products for our customers.
As you develop a deeper understanding of electronics manufacturing, MRP, supplier management, and production planning, there is significant pathway to grow into purchasing, planning, strategic sourcing, and supply chain leadership.
Responsibilities
- Monitor all open purchase orders and proactively manage supplier delivery commitments.
- Expedite critical materials and resolve shortages before they affect production.
- Place purchase orders based on MRP recommendations and manufacturing requirements.
- Ensure and maintain accurate supplier promise dates and purchasing information within the ERP system.
- Communicate daily with suppliers regarding delivery status and potential delays.
- Collaborate with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Program Management to support customer schedules.
- Use technology, reporting tools, Excel, ERP systems, AI, and automation to improve efficiency and visibility.

- Strong background in supply chain management principles including pricing strategies, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and inventory optimization.
- Strong computer and technical aptitude with advanced skills in using spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis, forecasting, and reporting purposes.
- Excellent communication skills for vendor negotiations and cross-functional collaboration.
- Comfortable learning and using AI tools and new technologies to improve productivity.
- Excellent organization, communication, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Highly Preferred:
Experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), electronic component purchasing, MRP/ERP systems, Bills of Material (BOMs), and production material planning.
A Day in the Life
Your day starts by reviewing production schedules and MRP recommendations to understand what materials are needed over the coming days and weeks. You review open purchase orders, identify parts that could jeopardize production on-time delivery and immediately contact suppliers to confirm delivery dates or expedite shipments.
Throughout the day you'll work closely with production, planning, engineering, and sales team to understand changing priorities. You'll place purchase orders, update supplier commitments in the ERP system, communicate risks early, and solve supply chain problems before they reach the manufacturing floor.
Some days you'll negotiate earlier delivery dates. Other days you'll locate alternate sources or leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and decision making. Every day, your focus is the same: keep manufacturing running.

This role is designed for someone who wants to build a career in supply chain. Candidates with electronics manufacturing knowledge, strong MRP skills, and a passion for technology will have exceptional opportunities to expand into purchasing, planning, supplier management, and supply chain leadership as the business continues to grow.
