Electronics Test Technician Intern

VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space and industrial applications, is currently searching for Electrical Engineering students interested in obtaining a Summer 2026 internship position. This internship will provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both R&D and manufacturing environments while working alongside experienced engineers who are leaders in their field.

Location and Schedule:

On-site at our Blacksburg, VA headquarters. Hours are 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday and 8:00 a.m. - Noon, Friday.

Expected start date: May 18, 2026. Interns are expected to work for at least 8 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform automated testing and screening of production and engineering parts
• Perform maintenance on test and screening circuits, hardware, harnesses and equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits
• Assemble circuit boards, test hardware and wiring harnesses
• Apply basic principles and theories of electronics and electrical circuitry
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic electronics experience
• Currently enrolled in or intending to enroll in an Electrical Engineering program at a Virginia higher education institution
  
  

Mentorship & Professional Development

• You will be paired with senior test engineers who will provide guidance and support throughout your internship
  
  

Employment

Actual employment will be through Elwood Staffing in Christiansburg, VA. Salary will be discussed with applicant and is dependent upon education and experience.
