Tara Village is a 170-unit Tax Credit Property.
SUMMARY
The Activities Coordinator will assist in the multi-site planning and implementation of recreational program designed by the Property Administrator through crafts, games, light exercise and leisure trips for VPM’s communities. Other programs may include working with community outreach programs to assist residents of the apartment community. Identify community services needs of residents. Build community partnerships that bring services and notice to the property, advocate of the property, seek participation and selling the events/activities/programs. Collect and record data to measure program outcomes. Activity participates with other employees working toward resident stability. As needed, the Activities Coordinator will delegate tasks to employees and/or volunteers ensuring the success of the program.

Essential Job Functions
The Activities Coordinator will:
1. Suggest ideas to the Property Administrator in order to develop an enjoyable program for all residents to participate in.
2. Advise the Property Administrator of any changes in event status for upcoming events such as but not limited to: sold out events, number of people on sign-up sheets, ticket needs, etc.
3. Will set up for weekly events which involves ensuring materials are available and operable.
4. Provide direct supervision and mentorship to club assistants and/or volunteers, provide training and development opportunities.
5. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures for club activities, After School Homework Help, and any community events of the properties.
6. Develop and manage activity budgets for the assigned properties.
7. Oversee the needs assessments, lesson planning, supply shopping, food pantries, food box pick up and deliveries and coordinating recommended events of each property.
8. Conduct frequent inspections of properties to identify and address any maintenance issues of all kid friendly spaces.
9. Develops and implements recreational and enrichment activities for groups of children.
10. Responds to questions and inquiries from staff and parents regarding care practices.
11. Assures the safety and well-being of residents/children. Take appropriate steps to intervene in dangerous and/or unsafe situations.
12. Ensure coffee is available for day and/or evening events and the coffee supplies are well stocked, i.e. sugar, creamer, cups, etc.
13. Make suggestions for monthly newsletters and deliver newsletters to residents’ apartment homes.
14. Decorate the Clubhouse and pick up supplies, food and/or gifts for events as directed by the Property Administrator.
15. Coordinate volunteers prior to events to help with set up, clean up, service and direct the Maintenance Staff of setting up tables and materials.
16. Attend all events and ensure all volunteers are performing their assign tasks for a smooth and successful event.
17. Contact the appropriate individuals and/or agency when an emergency occurs and/or regarding any complaints or comments residents may have relating to an event.
18. Unlock the Clubhouse and the Laundry Facilities on weekends as needed.
19. May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Outstanding resident relations, communication, organizational and administrative skills along with basic computer skills are required
- Proficient with MS Office (i.e. Microsoft Work, Excel, and Outlook)
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in Social Services preferred
- Educational background should include a high school diploma or equivalent.

- Ability to walk, stand constantly
- Ability to walk up and down stairs safely frequently
- Ability to communicate in English clearly in order to be understood by co-workers, residents, vendors and other local agencies
- May perform other duties as directed.
- Must possess reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and state-required automobile insurance coverage.
Salary : $20 - $25
