We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Groomer to join our animal care team. Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping for dogs and other small animals
- Handle animals safely and humanely during grooming procedures, utilizing animal restraint techniques as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and work area in accordance with health standards
- Assess each pet’s coat condition and recommend appropriate grooming treatments or products
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, special needs, or health concerns
- Assist with pet handling tasks such as dog training or basic veterinary care when necessary
- Ensure the safety and comfort of animals throughout the grooming process, demonstrating animal handling expertise
- Keep detailed records of services provided and any observations related to animal health or behavior
Skills
- Experience in pet grooming, animal handling, or kennel work is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures is a plus
- Familiarity with veterinary technician or assistant experience enhances ability to recognize health issues
