Job Description: Blow Molding Supervisor
Job Overview
The Blow Molding Supervisor, in addition to their capacity as a Blow Mold Technician, will also be fully responsible for managing the Blow Molding Technicians across all three shifts, and for the continuous operation, maintenance of all equipment, and machinery used within the department.
The Blow Molding Supervisor is expected to be the impetus behind the improvement of the Blow Molding Technical department. To design and work with the Blow Molding Technician team to implement a strategy to optimize and improve current production processes for current and new products. This role will also assist the Injection Molding Supervisor with assigned projects.
Essential Functions
- Supervision of blow molding department/Technicians
- Schedule work for all technicians within the blow mold department, including shift assignments, preventative maintenances, and training for technicians
- Develop and implement a plan to improve the blow mold department
- Ensure all forms and data records are completed by technicians within the blow mold department
- Assist with cross-training of injection mold Technicians on routine tasks:
- Mold changes and mold cleaning
- Starting and stopping the blow mold machines
- Starting and stopping the conveyors
- Oversee maintainance of blow molding machines
- Process products, troubleshoot, and repair all blow mold machines, and supported equipment
- Reduce scrap and promote the operational efficiency of the blow molding machines
- Contact machine or equipment manufacturer to resolve technical problems
- Test new equipment and create new processes and documentation for operation
- Regulate production processes
- Implement new strategies to optimize and improve current production processes, for current and new products
- Design innovative solutions to production problems
- Create new processes and documentation to manufacture new blow molding products
- Comply with all quality, safety, work rules, and regulations
- Adhere to given instructions, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines, and housekeeping procedures
- Follow the complete start-up and shut down procedure per the company’s and Machine requirements
- Understand and comply with applicable OSHA safety rules/regulations and Lock-out/Tag-out requirements
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Technical training in blow molding processing
- Minimum 5 years experience operating and processing products on blow molding machines
- Experience with SIAPI and SIPA machines highly desired
- Machine installation experience, mechanical troubleshooting and repair, and machine shop skills
- Must be able to operate material handling equipment
Required Traits
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, identify and address problems, and meet deadlines
- Ability to read, write and communicate proficiently in English
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work effectively both independently, and within a team environment
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Experience/Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required
