Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, loading, and unloading of materials within the warehouse environment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, heavy equipment operation, and safety protocols to ensure smooth logistics and inventory management. Prior experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, and materials handling is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload shipments using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment
- Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory accurately
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping using order picker equipment and manual methods
- Ensure proper handling of materials in compliance with OSHA safety standards
- Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including documentation and inventory updates
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and workflow
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as cranes and forklifts to ensure operational safety
- Support construction or heavy lifting tasks as needed within the warehouse or related facilities
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, and materials handling
- Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks safely
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting basic equipment issues
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety procedures in a warehouse setting
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory control
- Strong physical ability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during shifts
- Construction or heavy equipment operation experience is a plus
- Warehouse supervisor experience is advantageous for leadership roles within the team
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes including load & unload procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail
