Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Shop Assistant role based in Shreveport, LA. The Shop Assistant supports day-to-day operations in the shop, including organizing tools and parts, staging materials for technicians, and assisting with basic assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of equipment and components. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe work area, helping with shipping and receiving tasks, and accurately labeling and storing inventory. The role also involves following work orders and instructions, using hand and power tools as directed, and completing basic documentation or checklists. The Shop Assistant collaborates closely with mechanics, technicians, and supervisors to ensure jobs move efficiently and customers’ equipment is serviced on schedule.
Qualifications
- Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools, and willingness to learn equipment-specific procedures.
- Strong attention to detail for organizing parts, labeling, and following work orders accurately.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment, pumps, or industrial maintenance.
- Commitment to safety practices, including proper use of PPE and adherence to shop policies.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to support technicians and coordinate with supervisors.
- Dependable work ethic, punctuality, and ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and moving equipment as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior shop, warehouse, or industrial experience is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to receive on-the-job training and grow into more advanced shop or technician responsibilities over time.
- Must be 21 or older
- Must be able to pass drug screen and background check
