Role Description
Voyager is seeking an experienced Trucking Dispatcher with strong organizational and communications experience to join our Operations team in Newark, NJ. The ideal candidate for this position is able to manage all aspects of our daily operations - including dispatch/scheduling, supervision of drivers, field support, and maintenance coordination. Bi-lingual English/Spanish a must. This role will involve frequent travel to our Fairview, NJ location.
Job Type: Full-Time Onsite
Compensation Range: 70,000 - 75,000/yr
Hours: Mon-Fri 8AM-6PM, Saturdays 8AM-12PM
Requirements
3 years experience in Waste Management Industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Fleet Dispatching Experience required
Reporting and Administrative Skills
Microsoft Office
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bi-lingual a must
Reponsibilities
Driver accountability
Supervise scheduling and dispatch of all transportation to transfer stations and landfills.
Load maximization
Managing safety standards
Managing and Organizing
ELD Compliance
HOS Compliance
DVIR reporting and compliance
Driver Qualification Files
Bill of Lading and Manifest management
Filing and organization
Samsara Telematics
Complete all required reports and paperwork
Employee training, and discipline
Oversee and manage driver check-in, pre and post trips
Knowledge of DOT laws and guidelines
Ensure management of the company’s independent owner operator fleet
Assign duties and monitor quality of work, assure staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures as well as government regulations
Oversee and manage the movement of trailers in the yard, as well as perform trailer inventory
Keep up to date on overall activities of the fleet, identify problems areas and take corrective actions
Willing to answer some calls after hours.
