Transfer Station Small Loader Operator

Company Information:
Voyager Trucking Corporation is a waste hauling company that specializes in the transportation and brokerage of municipal solid waste, construction, and demolition, biosolids, mulch and recyclables; from transfer stations and manufacturing facilities to landfills and incinerators in the northeast corridor. We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Transfer Station General Laborer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our transfer station and involves a variety of tasks. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

Position: Transfer Station Heavy Laborer
Pay Rate: $22/hour
Schedule:

• Monday through Friday: 6am - 4pm
• Saturdays: 6am - 12pm (Mandatory)

Key Responsibilities:

Operating Equipment:

• Safely operate the Volvo L20 Loader and other equipment as required.

General Maintenance:

• Clean and maintain drainage systems.
• Assist in tarping trailers to secure loads.
• Use a backpack blower for site cleanliness.
• Operate a fire hose to wash down pads and other areas as needed.

Site Upkeep:

• Ensure the transfer station is clean.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor.

Waste Management:

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.

Customer Service:

• Direct traffic within the transfer station to ensure safety and efficiency.

Requirements:

Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

Skills:

• Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work well in a team environment

Availability:

• Must be available to work the specified schedule, including mandatory Saturdays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a noisy, outdoor environment.
