We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of our credit union. This role involves general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and credit union regulations.
What You Will Do:
- Perform a variety of accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, collections, and recordkeeping.
- Prepare financial and forecasting reports monthly, quarterly, and annually for the CFO
- Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis
- Reconcile general ledgers, credit union accounts, and Alloya corporate statements
- Manage fixed assets and prepaid items using the depreciation program
- Enter daily and monthly general ledger transactions, including payroll and investments
- Monitor and record investment activity, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet items.
- Support internal and external audits and regulatory exams
- Assist with monthly and year-end closings, including preparation of financial statements
- Contribute to process improvements for accounting efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to internal control policies.
What You Will Need:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, preferred in the financial sector.
- Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, etc.)
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Knowledge of account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end/year-end closing processes

Wage:
Starting at $26/hr, DOE
Schedule:
Monday through Friday from 8am – 5pm
