Job Summary

The Senior Data Product Owner drives discovery and strategy for data products and solutions, deeply understanding customer needs and market trends. Works cross-functionally to shape product direction, influence priorities, and optimize value delivery. The Senior Product Owner holds domain context for datasets and helps tech translate business process into deliverables. Works with the business domain owner to deliver business value. Mentors junior product owners.

A significant program will be focused on Retail Wealth Management initiatives. Your experience with retail wealth business and technologies along with your experience with advisor technologies will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a voice of the customers – understand the business needs and translate them into technical requirements for the Retail Wealth Management data domain.
  • Work with the business partners to define and prioritize the product / domain roadmap.
  • Understand and articulate the technology vision and strategy, ensure that technology solution is successfully aligned with the business goals and priorities.
  • Design and implement data solutions in collaboration with architects. Measures success with analytics
  • Collaborates effectively with engineering to translate business needs to technical features. Support development teams with data requests and specifications
  • Define user stories based on customer requirements. Analyze business needs and translate into data requirements for a technical audience, including creating user stories, synthesizing use cases, defining acceptance criteria, documenting features overview.
  • Manage the Product Backlog effectively to maximize the delivered value, including developing and clearly communicating program increment or sprint goals and priorities; creating and clearly communicating product backlog items; ensuring that the product backlog is transparent, visible and understood.
  • Act as a bridge between customers / partners and engineering teams, ensuring effective communication and validation of solutions
  • Deliver solutions to businesses and coach them on usage
  • Mentors junior product staff; builds partnerships with engineering, business, and internal stakeholders.
  • Crafts compelling stories to gain buy-in from leadership and customers.

Required Skills And Experience

  • 10 years of professional experience in technology and or business analysis.
  • 5 years of data or product experience, with increasing responsibility.
  • Value oriented.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
  • Proven experience in a product owner role in an agile/scrum software development organization and understanding of the development lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent work items with minimal supervision.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Proficient in defining product strategies and OKRs.
  • Strong SQL/data querying skills; basic understanding of data modeling.
  • Excellent decision-making ability to manage a complex ever changing priority list and resolve conflicts to competing priorities. Experience managing competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written. Capable of collaborating effectively functional communication to technical stakeholders, technical communication to non-technical stakeholders).
  • Strong analyst with a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Strong problem solver. Ability to identify where focus is needed and bring clarity to business objectives, requirements and priorities.
  • Business and Functional requirement knowledge (i.e. elicitation of requirements, planning, documentation, analysis, and alignment to standards).
  • Ability to embrace, adapt and lead through change, fosters effective partnerships and drive effective collaboration with peers and vendor resources.

Compensation Pay Disclosure

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$111,150 - $165,110 USD
