What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician (Locum) position at Voy?
We are looking to hire a GPhC-registered Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) on a locum basis to accurately check prescriptions and support the efficient day-to-day running of our dispensary based on-site in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. You will have significant responsibility and autonomy for ensuring patient safety and will report to the Responsible Pharmacist.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Follow our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operational guidelines.
- Maintaining compliance with our practice standards.
- Checking dispensed prescriptions and sending out orders via our couriers.
- Managing the Pharmacy near misses and creating action plans.
- Working with the Risk and Safety team to root cause and resolve incidents.
- Working proactively with Service and other internal teams to ensure orders are dispatched in a timely manner.
- Proactive problem-solving and innovation, contributing towards service development and patient experience.
- Working with the Pharmacy Manager to train and develop the Pharmacy workforce.
- Collaborating with the Pharmacy Manager and Supply Chain team to manage inventory.
- You must be registered with the pharmacy regulator (GPhC).
- Hold a recognised Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification (or active enrolment in an accredited ACT training programme).
- Demonstrate high levels of professional expertise.
- Confident working to strict deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
- Have a passion for pharmacy and providing the best care for our customers.
- Have a love of working collaboratively with a team-centred approach.
- Have excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations and provisions of national and local services.
- Role model communication skills; you will hold excellent face-to-face interactions to effectively meet the varied needs of customers and patients in pharmacy.
- Be flexible in your working hours to suit the needs of the business.
- An initial screening call with recruitment.
- An onsite 2 hour trial and interview with a Production Manager, Pharmacist and or the Senior Operations Manager.
