Job Overview
The Blending Supervisor works to maintain high sanitary standards throughout the preparation, set-up and operation of the designated blending jobs while meeting high-quality manufacturing specifications in a safe work environment. Follows a continuous improvement process in the management of quality in all operations, supervision of operators and by maintaining a continuous and efficient workflow within the department through effective scheduling and processing of all work orders.
Essential Functions
Job duties include but are not limited to:
· Operates and monitors assigned machines to blend ingredients for the production of dietary supplements.
· Troubleshoot issues related to product quality and machine performance.
· Perform job duties within the established quality control guidelines of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
· Completes all tracking documentation accurately and in a timely manner using Google Sheets and/or Excel.
· Maintains high sanitary standards of cleanliness of workspace, equipment, and materials at all times.
· Also, performs cleaning duties of workspace to maintain sanitary conditions before, during and after processing a new job.
· Produces products that are defect free and properly identified.
· Utilize hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks and other tools as required to perform essential job duties.
· Communicates directly with Team / Group Lead or Operations A Manager concerning any discrepancies such as but not limited to safety, quality, operations, or health concerns.
· Follow the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines at all times.
· Reviews batch records for accuracy and completeness before forwarding to QC.
· Develops daily, weekly, and monthly target goals for department production and schedules runs.
· Participates in the selection of talent during hiring process.
· Participates in performance management, coaching and disciplinary activities and reviews with Operations A Manager
· Participates in training or directing training tech activities to enable level progression and pay progression for all operators in the department.
· Manages workflow and forecasts workload.
· Have continuous improvement within the department.
· Other duties as assigned including actual blending activities when business needs dictate.
Qualifications
· Experience in production
· Must be Tier 3 blending operator.
· Ability to communicate both orally and written to management and other employees.
· Knowledge of general mathematics
· Experience in computer skills including word processors, spreadsheets, and databases.
· Ability to understand, follow and implement written SOP’s.
· Ability to work through difficult conversations with quality control to resolve issues.
· Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently and greater weights with or without accommodation.
· Ability to stand or walk across hard surfaces all day.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
