VOTS Training is looking for an experienced Federal & Defense Business Development Consultant who understands the Huntsville defense, aerospace, space, and federal-contracting community.
This role is for someone who already knows how business gets developed around Redstone Arsenal, Research Park, NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center, Army programs, missile defense, and the broader Huntsville contractor community.
We are not looking for a high-volume salesperson or someone whose primary experience is cold calling.

You will help connect VOTS Training with organizations that can use our capabilities.
This includes:
- Developing relationships with defense contractors, federal prime contractors, subcontractors, aerospace companies, engineering firms, and government-support contractors
- Introducing VOTS Training to appropriate decision-makers and business-development contacts
- Identifying organizations with management, workforce-development, leadership, AI, professional-development, or training needs
- Arranging capability meetings, demonstrations, and strategic introductions
- Identifying customer problems that may support a custom training solution
- Recognizing potential commercial, subcontracting, teaming, licensing, pilot-program, or strategic-partnership opportunities
- Helping determine the strongest entry point into target organizations
- Providing insight into the Huntsville federal and defense business environment
- Helping VOTS prioritize opportunities with the strongest potential for a successful business relationship
- Supporting the development of qualified opportunities from initial introduction through business discussion
You are not expected to design the training yourself.
VOTS provides the products, course-development capability, demonstrations, pricing support, proposal support, and delivery resources.
Your role is to understand the market, identify the opportunity, develop the relationship, and help move the right opportunities forward.

- Experience developing relationships with federal contractors or defense companies
- Familiarity with prime/subcontractor and teaming relationships
- Experience presenting capabilities, products, or solutions to decision-makers
- Understanding of federal acquisition and government-contracting environments
- Ability to recognize potential opportunities before they become formal solicitations
- Strong communication and relationship-development skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound business judgment
- An established professional network within the Huntsville defense community is strongly preferred
An active Secret clearance is required for this role.
