The Role:
We’re looking for an ‘Manufacturing Estimator/Account Manager’ to join our Sales team and help strengthen relationships with our valued customers. This position ensures that client needs are met with accuracy, professionalism, and efficiency, serving as the key connection between customers, engineering, and production.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure all quotations, correspondence, and orders are reviewed for accuracy and entered correctly into the system in a timely manner.
- Secure orders from existing and potential customers through visits, calls, and other outreach methods.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical components and manufacturing projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and historical data, ensuring feasibility and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams, using ERP/CAD/estimating software to generate quotes, identify risks, and negotiate pricing while maintaining profitability.
- Interpret technical data such as specifications, engineering drawings, and calculations to complete sales activities and meet customer project scopes.
- Prepare, review, and submit quotes based on drawings, specifications, and prior job history.
- Coordinate with engineering and estimating to confirm scope, pricing, and feasibility.
- Enter customer orders accurately, verifying pricing, terms, and part details.
- Serve as primary contact for assigned accounts regarding quotes, order status, delivery schedules, and issue resolution.
- Work closely with production, quality, and shipping to track progress and communicate updates.
- Coordinate warranty or service claims, including scheduling evaluations or replacements.
- Interface daily with engineering, purchasing, and shop supervision to confirm manufacturability and timing.
What You Bring:
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing with 2–3 years in a customer relations/service role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn additional systems quickly.
- Ability to interpret engineering technical drawings.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on follow-through.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Technical degree preferred but not required.
- Ability to travel as needed to customer facilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid NYS driver’s license
- Ability to work overtime and travel out of town for service trips
- Comfortable performing physically active work including frequent lifting, climbing, standing, crouching, bending, and kneeling
