Who we are looking for:
Highly motivated CNC Programmers who seek interesting and challenging work. Individuals who have creative problem-solving skills and tend to think outside the box. Someone who has passion and determination in what they do.
Essential Functions:
· Program 4 & 5 Axis mills and Multi-Axis Mill-Turn machines in Mastercam.
· Select proper work holding and/or design applicable fixturing.
· Create Setup Sheets with thorough detail for CNC Machinists.
· Select appropriate tooling and tooling grades for workpiece material and required tolerances.
· Select appropriate tooling and toolpaths to maximize efficiency and quality.
· Communicate with tooling manufacturer reps for assistance on special tooling needs—order tooling as needed.
· Update existing programs to achieve improved quality, cycle time, and tool-life when applicable.
· Able to edit and understand G & M code programs.
· Assists Process/Manufacturing Engineers with establishing manufacturing processes of new parts and material stock size.
· Coordinates updating of process improvements with Process Engineering on repeat parts.
· Communicate with Sales or Engineering for design issues, manufacturability concerns, or missing information/tolerances.
· Read and understands blueprints, job travelers, work instructions, program and tooling sheets, tooling specifications, quality documents and GD&T.
· Use of inspection hand tools.
· Set up and run CNC Machines when necessary.
· Work with high mix, high tolerance and low volume parts.
Qualifications:
· 5 years of experience in operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
· 2-3 years of related programming experience.
· Experience with 3 2 machining on a 5-axis mill, full 5-axis machining a plus.
· Experience with Mill-Turn machining a plus.
· Experience with hard milling a plus.
· Proficient in Mastercam or similar CAM software.
· Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software a plus.
· Experience with Renishaw Inspection Plus software preferred.
· Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· High school diploma or equivalency minimum.
· Degree or certificate from a related technical/vocational trade program a plus.
· Need good organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Good mechanical ability with strong shop math skills.
· Good understanding of tooling and processes such as heat treating.
· Knowledgeable with a wide range of material –anything from plastics to various tool steels.
· Enjoys working in a team environment.
