What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operators position at Voss Cattle Company LLC?
Workers will operate tractors, mowers/mower-conditioners, hay rakes, tedders, round and square balers, bale wrappers, bale movers, loaders, and other mechanized equipment used in hay production operations. Duties include cutting, tedding, raking, and baling hay at optimal moisture and maturity; operating bale handlers, stackers, and front-end loaders for bale staging, stacking, and loading; applying fertilizer and herbicides to hay fields as directed; performing field maintenance including mowing waterways and fence lines; and hauling and delivering baled hay by truck and trailer. Workers will perform pre-operation equipment inspections, check fluid levels, grease fittings, adjust baler knotter/net wrap systems, replace worn pickup teeth and belts, and assist with field repairs to minimize downtime during cuttings. Workers may also be required to perform general farm labor duties including irrigation management, fence repair, pasture maintenance, and facility upkeep. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme heat during summer cuttings. Workers must be able to lift and handle hay bales and work extended hours including weekends during cutting and baling operations. A minimum of 3 months of verifiable experience operating hay equipment and farm tractors is required.
