We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Set Up Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, programming, and setting up CNC machines to produce high-precision components efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery such as CNC grinding machines, ensuring proper calibration and alignment using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Program CNC equipment utilizing CAM programming software and interpret blueprints, and technical drawings to produce parts that meet strict specifications.
- Conduct tooling changes, adjustments, and troubleshooting during machine operation to maintain optimal performance.
- Perform quality checks using precision tools such as dial indicators, height gauges, and other measurement devices to verify part dimensions align with specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by properly handling hand tools, power tools, tooling components, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery; familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), software.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling selection.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, height gauges.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions and tolerances accurately.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments that utilize lean principles.
